Top-Down Boss Rush adventure game made in Unreal Engine with a strong narrative component and puzzle elements in which the protagonist faces her main fears represented as the game's bosses.

Awarded Best Game Hobby Category on the Game Development World Championship (GDWC) in 2023.

Roles & Responsibilities

GAME DESIGN

  • Designed the core gameplay mechanics

  • Iterated on the 3 C's (Character, Controls, Camera)

  • Worked on the combat system (a big pillar since it's a Boss Rush Game) and its balancing, as well as the enemy and boss design and prototyping

  • Scripted and iterated on new gameplay features using Unreal Engine Blueprints 

  • Designed and iterated on the pick-ups system

  • Managed a team of 15 people envolving design, music, art, production and programming departments

  • Compiled and iterated on the feedback recieved in testing sessions done on events like Dreamhack and Indie Summit

LEVEL DESIGN

  • Designed, blocked-out and iterated on multiple levels with platforming and puzzle elements

  • Integrated the tutorial in the Level Design paying special attention to the organic learning of the mechanics

  • Integrated the main narrative elements into the Level Design

  • Meshed the levels in collaboration with the art department

NARRATIVE DESIGN

  • Worked as Narrative Designer, writing the main story outlines and character backgrounds

  • Wrote the lore pick-ups (presented as diary pages) and the narrator quotes/dialogues throughout the story
